Successful Installation of Maintenance Dock at Orly Airport for Air France

GD Gép és Daru Kft. designed, manufactured, and installed the maintenance docks successfully deployed at Orly Airport in France at the end of last year on behalf of Air France. This innovative solution significantly enhances the efficiency and safety of maintenance operations.

Project Overview

The installed maintenance dock is a flexible and versatile solution designed to support maintenance work on A220, A320, B737, and E-190 aircraft. The docks can be used both on aircraft on wheel or on jacks, allowing adaptation to various maintenance scenarios. It has been designed based on the “operational empty weight” (OEW) configuration, where the aircraft has minimal fuel in the tanks and no passengers or cargo onboard. However, its adaptable design allows it to handle different loading conditions as well.

Key Functional Features

The maintenance dock installed at Orly Airport meets several essential requirements:

  • Mobility: Easily movable on wheels for seamless positioning around aircraft.
  • Safety: Provides stable and secure access to various nose areas of the aircraft for repairs, modifications, and maintenance.
  • Efficiency: Designed for rapid and straightforward setup to minimize transition times between aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Workplace Safety: Features non-slip flooring and protective railings to ensure a secure working environment for maintenance personnel.
  • Adjustability: Equipped with sliding and lifting components to optimize working conditions for maintenance teams.
  • Lightweight Construction: Made from a combination of steel and aluminum, reducing overall weight while maintaining durability and ease of handling.

The installation of this maintenance dock represents a significant advancement in Air France’s maintenance capabilities, enhancing both operational efficiency and safety. GD Gép és Daru Kft. takes pride in its contribution to this important aviation infrastructure project, further strengthening its expertise in aircraft maintenance solutions.
