ESS Lifting-Transport Unit for Railway Vehicle Manufacturing and Repair (ESS)

Lifting-transport unit for material handling tasks related to railway car bodies.

Functions:

• Lifting: vertical movement of the railway car body within a range of 800-1900 mm from the rail crown.
• Transport: horizontal movement of the railway car body at a height of 800 mm from the rail crown.
• In an empty state, it can be closed to a height of about 450 mm and connected with a drawbar for moving between work positions.

The main movements of the equipment include:

• Vertical (lifting and lowering) motorized with single speed.
• Horizontal (straight-line movement) motorized with dual speed.

The ESS type lifting-transport unit consists of two electro-hydraulic powered lifting machines equipped with scissor lift mechanisms operating on standard gauge railway tracks.

Both self-propelled units have lifting and traveling batteries, as well as hydraulic power units. The machines are controlled via radio remote control, with the radio receiver and central control cabinet located on one of the carts. During operation, the two carts communicate with each other via radio frequency connection, ensuring regulated lifting and lowering regardless of load.
